ADELAIDE INSOMNIA CLINIC
PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

How much does an appointment cost?

Dr Kemp is a member of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists, so is able to provide Specialist Psychology Services. This means that if you are referred under a GP Mental Health Care Plan, you will receive a higher benefit from Medicare. Costs vary depending on the length of time of the appointment, the type of service required, and whether clients are referred by their medical practitioner under a GP Mental Health Care Plan.

Generally, if you are referred by your medical practitioner the gap for each appointment will be $80.  Dr Kemp charges $204.50 for each appointment (paid in full on the day of your appointment) and the Medicare rebate is $124.50 (i.e., the gap is $80).

We offer a significant discount if you have a current Health Care Card and your appointment charge is $150.00 (paid in full on the day of your appointment) and with the Medicare rebate of $124.50 your "gap" is just $25.50.

For patients claiming a Medicare rebate, we strongly recommend that they register for the Medicare Safety Net. Under this scheme, once your out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. gaps) reach a certain threshold Medicare pay an increased rebate which can significantly reduce your gap payments.

If you are not referred to Dr Kemp by a medical practitioner, you may still be entitled to claim a rebate from your private health insurer.  You should contact your private health insurer to find out how much your rebate will be.

We can accept payment by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS. For clients claiming under Medicare, the process is easiest if you have access to an EFTPOS card, as we can electronically process the claim AND your rebate on the same day.
